Featured Youth Programs

All featured youth programs are beneficiaries of funds raised by Helping Hands Books. Each one does an exceptional job providing youth with amazing role models, life changing experiences, and places to call their own. We at Helping Hands Books urge you to visit their websites. See what terrific work they do, and if possible, give directly to their causes.

When shopping in one of our on-line stores, everything has a code inserted at the end of the product description (Example: TG87).  Each code lets you know which of our Featured Youth Programs the item’s sale benefits.  If all you see is a number, ex. (248), the item is designated to help the Town Shop Youth Center.  After each of the youth programs described below is that program’s designated identification code.  In this way you can purchase items that will directly benefit the youth program of your choice!

The Williamson Free School of Mechanical Trades

hortpic1

Our mission is to prepare deserving young men to be useful and respected citizens. Those words are Mr. Williamson’s. When we close our eyes and imagine a world where that mission has been accomplished we see Williamson men building a better world by building better families, better organizations and better communities. That is our Vision.

And we believe there are thousands of Williamson graduates living out that Vision today. Williamson men are better fathers, husbands, employees, employers, neighbors, community leaders and gentlemen. Williamson is fortunate to be able to verify the substance of its mission by actually witnessing the School’s Vision being lived out. There is much for us to perform more excellently as we carry out the School’s mission, and there is much work to do to be able to sustain it financially – but there is much to confirm that the effort is well placed. Seeing Williamson men build a better world makes all the effort worthwhile.

Taggart John H School’s Music Program

Taggart Pic

Taggart has just begun a music program and is in need of further funding.  When I visited their music room, it was filled with electronic keyboards, and had an area for computer-based music production. Mike (the music teacher) informed me that all funds raised would help purchase instruments, sheet music and help pay for any repairs needed on their instruments.
